Hi Benjamin, its nice to see youre keeping in track with your work and blogging them as you go. A word of advice, before you start experimenting them in Sketch-Up, you might want to do some really rough axonometric doodles of these to get a sense of their assembly as it will help you get "unstuck" in sketchup modelling.
The second image of "paradise" stair looks interesting, walking on them would feel very uneasy and uncomfortable thou. Think about it in relation to Banksy's unsettling/elusive "paradise"(looking out from a cracked hole). If you're going to choose this one you should think about how the design of the balustrades and landings would come into this equation. -Jacky
